Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim spotted in official database

Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim spotted in official database

Ahead of the January announcement, more leaks about the Galaxy S25 series have hit the web. This newest leak discusses the S25 ‘Slim’ model that has been leaked several times in the past few weeks.

According to SmartPrix, a new device has appeared in the GSMA IMEI database. The new device sports the model number SM-S937, and while people would naturally assume it’s one of the Galaxy S25 phones, the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra were already in the database under model numbers (SM-S931, SM-936, and SM-S938).

SmartPrix says there is usually a gap of around six or seven months between adding a handset to the database and releasing it. This would corroborate previous rumours that the S25 Slim would launch in Q2 2025, months after the release of the S25 series.

It’s unclear what Samsung will do to differentiate this Slim version (other than making it slim, of course), but there will likely be some sacrifices compared to the other Galaxy S25 models. For example, Samsung may install a smaller battery on this device.

Apple will reportedly launch an ultra-thin iPhone in 2025, replacing the iPhone 17 Plus model.

It’s unclear if Samsung will only launch this handset in certain regions or if we’ll get it here in Canada.
