Rogers-owned Fido is offering some customers a special $34/60GB plan when adding a bring-your-own-phone (BYOP) line.
Red Flag Deals (RFD) spotted the offer, which appears to be showing up for some existing customers. The details included in a screenshot shared on RFD show that the plan is Fido’s in-market $54/60GB plan with a $20/mo discount. Notably, that $54/mo price includes a $10/mo autopay discount, so you’ll need to use autopay to get that $34 price.
Moreover, that plan includes unlimited Canada-wide and Canada-U.S. calling, unlimited international texting, and other features like voicemail, call display and more. Fido only offers 4G data and caps speed at up to 150Mbps.
Notably, one RFD user pointed out that the fine print on Fido’s website notes that users who remove the plan from their account can’t activate another Canada-U.S. calling plan on that line for 12 months. That sparked speculation that Fido might have better Canada-U.S. plans come Black Friday.
Ultimately, with Black Friday so close, it’s worth waiting to do anything telecom-related. There’s a strong chance that Black Friday and holiday offers will be far better than whatever current offers are, and it would suck to switch now only to find out there’s something better in a couple of weeks.
